One of the many reasons we love what we do is the relationships it’s allowed us to develop over the years.
We see time and time again that our world is smaller than we think, and our community is connected in more ways than one.
So many of our neighbors are up to epic things, and we want you to know all about it too! That’s why we’re kicking off our latest series called the People of LendScout.
One of our oldest friends and earliest clients, Chelsea Mister, has kindly agreed to be our first feature and we’re so glad she did!
When she’s not busy chasing after her two adorable kids, Holland and Watson, she’s creating amazing designs for the corporate world and working on this little side project you may have heard of called Around the Crown 10K.
Yup, that’s right! Chelsea is the creative designer behind all of the branding and designs we’ve come to know and love for our favorite road race in Charlotte.
Keep reading to learn more about her and the awesome projects she’s up to!
I was born and raised in the dry heat of Phoenix, Arizona. I moved to Charlotte in July 2012 and quickly fell in love with North Carolina.
How do you spend your free time? A little bit of work, some running, and a whole lot of parenting. Our kids Holland (3) and Watson (1.5) keep our days moving. I work full time for Red Ventures as a Digital Designer as well as Creative Director for Around the Crown 10K, a race that my husband and I started.
It is said that people don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it. From the beginning, I would say ATC10K has had a soul, a clear purpose and a why behind everything we do. Creating the visuals to support that why, of moving Charlotte forward, has been my favorite part of the process.
Kris. Steele.
Actual answer: Our family has been long-time friends with LendScout’s founder, Kris. Both LendScout and ATC10K being family businesses, it has been wonderful to support each other as our companies have grown. LendScout came on as a sponsor for our event ATC10K and our family used LendScout when we bought our first home.
Madison Park. Call me biased because I live in this charming neighborhood but it truly is amazing. It is close to Little Sugar Creek Greenway, the backyard trails, with great local food options nearby.
Classic modern rustic. To me, this means a little bit of everything; embracing rustic charm with a touch of modern elements. I love a classic color scheme and incorporating design elements like a feature wall and adding additional textures, that keep it clean yet warm and inviting.
I have such admiration for photography. In particular, the ability to capture a moment of pure joy for a family like the emotion of a child discovering something for the first time, all in a split second. Creating memories to last a lifetime is a skill that I wish I had.
